The first-of-its-kind Indiana 5G Zone accelerates innovation and advances related technologies. Several notable stakeholders include AT&T, Verizon, Purdue University, Eleven Fifty Academy, Indiana IoT Lab - Fishers, Battery Innovation Center, Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN), Energy Systems Network, Indiana University, and the University of Notre Dame with the intent to add more partners.
Sixteen teams from eight different Georgia colleges and universities competed in Atlanta’s Tech Square. More than 40 mentors, judges, and volunteers came together to provide guidance to team members during the competition that kicked off the Super Bowl 53 local host committee’s opening weekend. Partners included HackGT, Honeywell, Georgia Centers of Innovation, Georgia Tech’s Constellations Center for Equity in Computing, and the North Georgia Innovation Center.
This state-wide contest brought ten teams of high schoolers from across Georgia together to develop and showcase how they would apply artificial intelligence to solve a problem in health, education, or sustainability. The series included four events, each with its own array of sponsorship partners and generating several technology prototypes for MARTA to integrate.
A worldwide campaign established by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to commemorate the world population milestone of 7 billion people. Partners included IBM, crowdSPRING, National Geographic, Blog Talk Radio, SAP, and Playing for Change. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon spoke during the Day of Seven Billion culmination event at the United Nations building in New York City.
A yearlong initiative to spark innovation and broader engagement in the movement to end hunger in America, which officially launched at SXSW. The project was designed to offer the entire SXSW Interactive community the opportunity to work collaboratively with its cause partners, Feeding America, Share Our Strength, and Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, to help solve a major social issue – and hunger was designated as the official cause of the festival, a first for the event.
